This collaboration enables Priv Tech to propose and support cookie-less marketing using LiveRamp's unique identity resolution while ensuring consent management under the revised Personal Information Protection Law that went into effect in April, as well as to address the ever-increasing restrictions on 3rd party cookies.

In addition to appropriate "protection" of personal information based on the law, we will continue to propose and support more "aggressive" digital marketing. We will continue to strive to be a professional privacy solution provider that offers appropriate solutions to meet the challenges faced by our clients.

■ Background and Objectives

In Japan, the Amended Act on Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the "Amended APPI") was enacted in June 2020 and went into effect in April 2022. The Amended APPI strengthens the rights of individuals concerning their personal data and the penalties for law violations. In addition to the revision of the law, interest in privacy protection is growing in Japan, and companies will be required to exercise greater care and attention in acquiring and handling personal data in the future.

In addition, there is a growing trend toward regulating 3rd party cookies in Internet browsers. As a result, many companies are forced to review their conventional marketing methods that utilize cookies, especially in advertisement distribution.

To solve the above issues, it is essential to deepen appropriate knowledge of the Amended APPI, respond to it, and promote the use of "post-cookie solutions" that do not rely on cookies.

Therefore, to support companies with such issues, complying with the Amended APPI and consent management, we are collaborating with LiveRamp to propose and support a post-cookie solution that helps people-based marketing (*) that utilizes a unique identity resolution and achieves cookie-less ad delivery.

Priv Tech, as a privacy professional, will continue to release services that comply with Japan's Personal Information Protection Law and platform regulations and will continue to work hard to offer various post-cookie solutions to our clients through collaboration and partnerships.

* People-Based Marketing is a concept that enables the identification of individuals using multiple devices and the ability to appeal to those individuals across multiple devices.
