This collaboration enables DIS, as a distributor, to offer "Trust 360," Priv Tech's consent management platform for utilizing personal data. As one of the largest distributors in Japan, DIS handles IT products from 1,300 manufacturers in Japan and abroad and provides them through its nationwide sales offices; together, we will use IT to solve the issues of Internet privacy measures for companies in Japan.
■ Supporting corporate marketing activities with privacy considerations
The rapid expansion of businesses and services utilizing big data and AI has made daily life more convenient. At the same time, privacy protection is threatened by how personal data is handled, which is becoming a social issue.
In Japan, there has been a stronger movement to regulate third-party cookies in Internet browsers since the Amended Act on Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the "Amended APPI"). After the Amended APPI came into effect in April of this year, it became mandatory to obtain prior consent from the users when acquiring external data via cookies and linking it to their personal information.
